Mr. Adekunle Omotimirin
Mr. Adekunle Omotimirin is a distinguished Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, as well as the esteemed founder and Principal Partner of his legal practice.
He embarked on his academic odyssey at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-lfe, Osun State, Nigeria, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours (LL.B. Hons.) in 1994. Subsequently, he advanced his education at the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Upon the successful culmination of the rigorous one-year program administered by the Council of Legal Education, he was formally admitted to the Nigerian Bar and enrolled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1995.
In addition to his foundational qualifications, Mr. Omotimirin possesses a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, conferred in 1999.
His dissertation, a comprehensive examination of the ultra vires doctrine, meticulously scrutinizes its relevance to contemporary company law in Nigeria while also undertaking a comparative exploration of its application across diverse jurisdictions.
During his LL.M program at the University of Lagos, he presented several erudite papers on many areas of law, including comparative criminal law, encompassing the nuances of criminal law across jurisdictions, the sentencing and punishment of offenders, plea bargaining and alternative non-custodial sentencing measures, as well as international law and human rights, among other topics. Mr. Omotimirin is a distinguished member of the Nigerian Bar Association and a lifetime member of the Nigeria/Britain Association. He is a member of International Association of Prosecutors and the International Bar Association.
He has remained vigorously involved in legal practice since his admission to the Bar. His professional odyssey encompasses a tenure at the esteemed law firm of Animashaun, Animashaun & Associates, where he adeptly litigated many cases in both trial and appellate courts across Nigeria, securing significant victories and authoring a plethora of incisive and productive legal opinions.
He has played a pivotal role in securing licenses for the establishment, construction, and operation of petroleum refineries in Nigeria and has adeptly processed and facilitated bids for oil blocks' licenses on behalf of several Clients.
Mr. Omotimirin exhibits an exceptional aptitude for adept negotiations and has cultivated an impressive network of contracts across various spectrum of specialized legal and corporate practice, particularly in energy law, with a focus on the petroleum and natural gas sectors of the economy, as well as in the acquisition and licensing of maritime vessels and aircraft.
Mr. Omotimirin possesses extensive knowledge in the real estate sector and has adeptly navigated numerous high-stakes negotiations. He is a CEDR Certified Mediator and has successfully handled several pre-election and election matters with a commendable degree of success.
